Bridal Checklist

I am happy to offer my help with planning your dream wedding, need ideas or vendor information?   I am happy to help!   15 months before the wedding book your wedding photographer and plan your engagement portrait session between 6-12 months out.

12 -15 Months Before the Wedding

#1  Select a wedding date, time, and location.
#2  Decide the type of wedding you would like to have. (Including the size, formality, and setting)
#3  Begin your guest list.
#4 Starting looking for your professional: caterer, disc jockey, cake artist
It is never too early to reserve your wedding professionals)
#5  Decide upon your budget.
#6 Book your wedding location(s) and ceremony officiant.
#7  Consider possible color schemes. 
9 to 12 Months

#8  Shop together for your wedding rings.
#9  Determine who will pay what expenses.
#10 Choose your attendants.
#11 Shopping:  Determine the sizes of your attendants. select dress and headpiece, and set a date for fittings and delivery. Select your bridesmaids' dresses and accessories.
#12 Select your honeymoon location. Determine the cost and book.

5 to 9 Months

#13 Check on the requirements for a marriage license.
#14 Select and discuss your color schemes with the florist.
#15 Attend pre-marital counseling.
#16 Reserve your wedding day rental equipment (tables, chairs, tent, gazebo, etc.).
#17 Finalize your guest list
#18 Review agreements with all of your professionals (photographer, caterer, D.J., site coordinator, transportation, etc.).
#19 Order your invitations and related stationary needs.
#20 Select your menu.

3 to 5 Months

#21 Decide upon a gift registry and select your gift choices. .
#22 Purchase the men's wedding attire. 
#23 Choose and order your cake and groom's cake.
#24 Orange transportation for the wedding day. (limo, carriage)
#25 Record gifts received     
#26 Decide and order your favors
#27 Have engagement portraits taken.
#28 Place your engagement announcement in the newspaper.

2 to 3 Months

#29 Mail out invitations and announcements.
#30 Arrange and plan your rehearsal dinner.
#31 Purchase your wedding day accessories.
#32 Book a beverage caterer for the reception and make selections.
#33 Prepare accommodations for out-of-town attendants and guests.
#34 Consider a hairdresser and/or makeup artist and book appointments.
#35 Plan ceremony with the officiant.

2 to 4 Weeks

#36 Final wedding dress fitting.
#37 Final fitting for your wedding attendants.
#38 Obtain marriage license.
#39 Have your bachelor and batchlerett parties.
#40 Create an events calendar for the wedding day
#41 Make sure your accessories are in order (rings, garter, pillow, etc.)
#42 Give a map or directions to your guests to the site(s), if necessary.

1 to 2 Weeks

#43 Finalize arrangements with the photographer and entertainer(s) and provide a list of music that will be played during special events such as first dance, garter removal and bouquet toss.
#44 Pick up your wedding rings and make sure that all engravings are correct and they fit.
#45 Contact the guests who have not responded to your invitations.
#46 Make sure your marriage license is in order.

1 to 7 Days

#47 Prepare seating arrangements, if necessary.
#48 Purchase travelers checks, confirm honeymoon reservations.
#49 Pack your baggage for your honeymoon.
#50 Have your wedding ceremony rehearsal.
#51 Instruct your wedding party and family on what you would like them to do on the day of  the wedding.
#52 Have your rehearsal dinner.
#53 Make sure all wedding attire fits properly.
#54 Give the best man the amount the professionals are to be paid on the day of the wedding.
#55 Inform your caterer of the total guest count.
#56 Confirm out-of-town guests have transportation and sleeping accommodations.
#57 Check with your florist and/or balloonist to make sure they will arrive when scheduled.
#58 If photographs are to be taken before the ceremony, allow at least one and one-half  hours and let family member know the starting time for your photographs.
#59 Put someone in charge of the wedding day.  Let a wedding planner do all the hard work and you just enjoy the day as the bride and soon to be Mr. & Mrs.

Your Wedding Day

Relax, enjoy yourself, and remain calm then have FUN! The day will flash by so enjoy every second.

Allow at least two hours for dressing.

Allow extra of time to apply your makeup and style your hair.

If professionals are doing your hair and/or makeup, ask them in advance how much time they will need.

Remember to bring the rings and marriage license.

Guests should be seated as they arrive. The groom's parents should be seated about 5 minutes before start time, the mother of the bride is normally seated last.

Take a deep breath and SMILE!  The day you have waited for is here so Enjoy!
